Philosophy

Kapetto aims to balance elegance with simplicity of function, meeting the world with a clear and minimalist design vision. The brand honors traditional techniques while embracing modern design sensibility, creating pieces that feel both timeless and contemporary.

Manufacturing

All rugs are handwoven in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, India using three primary techniques:

  • Hand-Knotted: The pinnacle of rug craftsmanship. Each knot individually tied using the Persian (Senneh) knot. A skilled weaver ties 8,000-12,000 knots per day. Up to 120 knots per square inch.
  • Hand-Tufted: A tufting tool punches yarn through canvas backing, creating plush, durable surfaces with design flexibility.
  • Hand-Loomed: Ancient weaving art creating flat-weave rugs with distinctive textures. Reversible designs.
A small 3x5 foot rug requires 200-300 hours of work. Larger pieces can take 800+ hours.
